Specifying gateways

I'm on an ethernet connection at school

We have been having poor connections to the internet at my dorm. My roommate switched his gateway and he has been getting speedy uploads and downloads. I'm sure there is a way to do it.

i have been messing around with "route" trying to modify the default gateway. Though it changes, i still get poor connections

I'm as stumped as you are about gateways (probably more so), but you might try this for a small immediate boost
