I can't get it working! When trying to install the driver and modem. (before configering MacOs 10.2) the 'speedtouchUSB-ADSL modem still doesn't appear in the network-list.

Any advise, experiences are welkom, thanks marc

I am French and the Alcatel USB Speedtouch modem is the only one provided by Wanadoo, our French "Earthlink" DSL equivalent.

To install the Speedtouch correctly, follow the instructions on this page (French page)
http://www.macosxtech.com/dossiers/?art=3

If you don't understand a word of French, just try to:
1) Wipe any old installation of the modem from your disk.
2) Download the files from the URL I gave you.
3) Install them in the same order than they come on the page.

Good luck ! Those drivers are a pain in the *$$.

Best solution................buy an ethernet modem.
NOT an USB one, they are too buggy, especially the Alcatel frog drivers.
dslsource.co.uk are currently doing a £20 rebate for the Alcatel frog modem.

Yes, of course there's always some better piece of hardware you can buy to replace the frog Alcatel...

But
1) It's not a frog but a ray :)
2) You may not have the ca$h :)

So I recommend trying to make your Alcatel investment work, hence my previous post should be worth reading.

:D
