Spinning Beach Ball Very Slow Finder Start

G4 Quicksilver
OS X 10.4.3


Very slow (about 8 minutes!!) to start computer. Beachball goes round and round. When shutting down computer now get message: Logout has timed out because the application MirrorAgent failed to quit.

Have run Disk Utilities Repair Permissions, etc. Have reinstalled system sofstware and updated to 10.4.3

I have shut off auto syncing of iDISK

Once computer is up and running......everything seems very fast and fine.
 
you are a lucky man! on my box (admittedly rather old -- apple wants you to change more often!) the mucking beachball goes on and on even after startup...

setup: g4/450 agp, osx panther9, 896 mb ram
