Spotlight (and Finder) Stopped Searching My Music Folder!

and my Pictures folder. Why? I recently:
-turned File Vault on,
-searched for a music file in spotlight (and Finder),
-couldn't find it so I thought it might be because of File Vault so I,
-turned off File Vault.

I can search my Docs, Apps, Downloads and other folder but for some reason not my music or pics folders.

Any ideas about what's going on?

I had a similar problem after trying out filevault. rebuilding the spotlight database solved this for me.
