Spring-Loaded Folders

I have a PB 800 dvi, with a Lacie Porsche External HD. No problems with the drive, and actually I'm pleased with the performance. The folders on the Lacie I have created are not spring loaded? Is there an option I have missed or are external drives don't support Spring Load?

They should work just fine... it's a "SYSTEM" feature, so it doesn't matter where the folder resides. If it works on one drive, it should work on any other drive, CD or DVD.

If the external HD is PC-formatted, such as FAT32, perhaps that would prevent some Finder functions, in addition to extended file name problems.
I really don't know, can anyone else verify Spring-Loaded folders, especially on a PC-format external drive?

It is not PC formatted. I would think that Spring Loaded feature would work. What is does not do is close the folders after you put the file in them.

I think that is normal behavior in OS X. The folder will only close by itself if you haven't dropped the file into it. Turning off the feature allows you to drop files without opening the folder at all, but of course then you can't burrow.
