"Spyglass Error"

I work in the tech support department of a graphics company, and we all are having problems with what we're calling "the spyglass error" upon startup (usually once or twice a month). The company we work for is a tradeshow graphic company, so our tech support knowledge is limited to Adobe and other graphic design software, rather than the technical side of things.

We're all running version 10.4.11 on a G5 PowerPC, and we all have the same issue upon startup. Our desktop backgrounds will load, but the only thing that will come up is the spyglass icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

The only solution that we've found for this is to restart the computer in safe mode, and delete all preferences beginning with com. in our preferences folder. This has become a tedious waste of time, and we would LOVE to be able to find a permanent solution.

Does anyone have a solution????

Well you can trace down a problem in any Mac (because it is SCREAMING at YOU) by going to /Applications/Utilities/Console and reading the logs.

Happy Halloween.;)
