Having promlems turning on computer. I do not get the chime sound hear computer fan start shut down, push button 5 or 6 times. The computer will start up still with no chime sounding. I reinstalled tiger still not working. Does anyone have any ideas. The speaker still works heard it during reinstall of os10
 
Can you give us specifics on the iBook that you have? There have been many iterations of the iBook.

Check Low End Mac (http://lowendmac.com) for the one you have. You might even find the answer your looking for with your issue on that site as well (they cover some cautions to be aware of with certain Mac systems).
 
took it to the local apple store got it fixed they were very helpful. start couple days after I down loaded 10.4.3, guess some setting got messed up working fine now. also bought the new apple mouse works alot better on my i book than my old logtech mouse
