I got that message a few times before, but then it eventually went away because I did a massive cleanup of my computer. I forgot what I did before, but whatever it was, worked. But now, I keep deleting little files, but it's just not enough. I need a way to get rid of a lot of files that I don't use frequently. Can someone help me? Thank you so much!

Find out where your space is gone.
Empty more space and keep 15 % or more free at all times.
This is a simple app that will show the files http://freshmeat.net/projects/directorylister but htere are others that will show where your space is gone.
More the files you need to an external hd, or out of boot volume at least, and empty space - and empty trash after cleaning.
Do you have filevault on? That will also use a bit more space (or will be more problems disabling it - will need at least as much empty space as last reported filevault sparseimage size was)

Otherwise get a larger internal HD.. Most HDs are farely cheap (under $100.00) even for pretty large ones. Of course there would be extra cost associated if you needed it installed for you and your data migrated for you.

I really don't want to buy a larger internal HD. I'm looking for a way that I can just make much more room on my computer. I know there must be a way, because I've been just deleting all of these applications I don't use, but it's gotten to the point where I basically use all of the ones on my computer now, and I barely have any space left on my computer! It says my computer has a capacity of 74.21 GB and I only have 199.6 MB available. What can I do!?

If you can't make more space - then it's time to consider more space, i.e., larger hard drive.

First, have you tried removing all the foreign language support files? That can free up 2-5 GB on a Leopard system. Software like Monolingual will do the job neatly.
Even that leaves you pretty tight for space, and you may quickly return to the same 'out of space' situation.
Less than 250MB is dangerously low, and you risk seriously damaging your files directory, or even irreparable disk damage...

OmniDiskSweeper is free and shows you where space is used most. Lets you identify culprits. (Just make sure not to delete important system files.)
