I though my G4 is dead but not. I finally make my G4 work again by used reset red button on the logic board. It work fine for now. I reformatted hard drive and when I'm done with 9 and I tried to install MacOS X amd wont let me install because I have 10.0.3 while I already install 9.2.2. So I need to get latest MacOS X 10.1.2 to install on same hard drive. It didnt work well so I decide go back to 9 system. It showed up smile Mac with "?" question marker. I cannot make System go back to 9. So I reset logic board again. It go back to 9 system and I removed MacOS X. I prefer to leave 9.2.2 alone. I gave to my friend that he bought my G4. He called me and complained to me about startup problem. Everytime he restart and show up "?" he have to reset the logic board everytime he restart it. Why is that? I tried to fixed it but didnt work well. Help me

Erase the disk and do a clean install of OS X, then if you still need classic install 9, but don't unless you have to!

If this doesn't work don't know what to tell you!-Send it to Apple if it doesn't work!

My friend didn't want MacOS X. He want to leave 9.2.2 alone and run for now. But he still get "?" when he restart the computer. How do I make it default startup disk for 9.x not MacOS X? But it kept "?"

Go to Control Panels, then Startup Disk and set your volume as startup disk, should show there as a 9.2 type startup, thats all you need to do. Full Resets (the little red button) resets the startup drive selection, and you see the flashing ? every time you start up. Setting the Startup Disk will fix...... Or----you have a really crapped out System that wants to be REFORMATTED and REINSTALLED
