static PB's: is it a real problem?

I did a search on aluminium and titanium powerbooks that are static - as this problem sometimes occur on 2 pb's i work with.

It seems to be occur regularly

solutions seems to be to use a poweradapter with the 'grounded' powercord.

it can be annoying allright, question is: is it really bad?
- for the computer
- for the user

Aside from being annoying for the user (getting zaps all the time) there isn't any real chance of damage.

I had a original 12" Powerbook, and it used to give me zaps. Used it for over a year and had no problems. Currently using a Rev C Powerbook 12" and the zaps are now gone. Get a new power adapter if the problem is persisting, or visit an Apple store to talk to the geniuses there.
