"sticky" cursors?

I did a search, but haven't seen anything about this, so sorry if it's been brought up. In 10.1 through 10.1.3, I have noticed that all around the OS the mouse cursor seems to not always be the right one, as in not changing to what it should be. Is this a commone issue?

ken, do you mean like not changing to a hand when over a link or not adding a little spinner when connecting and things like that?

If so i have noticed that the cursor doesn't change sometimes until you move it.

Exactly. Sometimes when it should be the text insert cursor it's an arrow, etc. Sometimes it seems to take more than just moving it to change it. Weird.

well, given what i think i understand about osx and memory management, my guess has been that the icon state of the cursor is a very low priority process so that if resources are being used for more important things it simply waits a little while to deal with it. Sure beats crashing or slowing rendering just to see it change.:)

maybe somebody else can add more or correct me.

I hope they can, because I honestly find an excuse like that unacceptable. To its credit, Windows, AFAIK, never has this issue. X Windows neither.

It doesn't even change to a text cursor ( I-Beam ) in the Finder, when changing the name of a file. How blatantly obvious is that and it still hasn't been fixed in 10.1.3
I notice that OmniWeb will often not change to indicate a link that I am clicking on or mousing over.
