Stop the burner closing the sessions

Does anyone know how to make the burner not close the session on the cd you burn.

If you are using Toast, rather than clicking on the write disk button, click on the write session button. Remember that you will not be able to read that CD until you have completed the burn by using the write disk.

You can use Toast for multi session disks. And, you can view the contents on the disk before completing the burn on the disk.

Naming - Choose the naming convention that best suits you situation.Use Apple Extensions - When Checked, the option is active, and Toast writes both the data and resource forks for Macintosh files.
7Click Done.
8Insert into your recorder the backup CD to which you want to add incremental data.

To verify that the inserted CD is the correct one, choose Disc Info from the Recorder menu.

9Click Record.
10In the Multisession Options dialog box, click Incremental Backup and then click OK. Selecting Incremental Backup causes Toast to write only the files and folders that have changed since the last session.
11In the Start Writing Now dialog box, click Write Session. Toast writes only the changed data to the CD.
12When you see the message, "Your disc is ready," click Eject.

Found this on another forum;
Using Disk Copy

To make multi-session CD-Rs in OS X, using Disk Copy;

First burn a CD as usual in the "Finder" with whatever data you want on it. Then when you want to add data, just create a blank DMG (using Disk Copy) of whatever size you need to hold that data. Of course, the size you specify must fit on the partially burned CD. Put the files you wish to burn on the DMG. Unmount the DMG and then use "Disk Copy" to "Burn Image". Put in the CD to which you wish to add the data.

"Disk Copy" now says "Click the "Append" button to burn", and the button says "Append" instead of "Burn". And there you go, a multi-volume multi-session CD-R or -RW burned in OSX with no additional software required!

Haven't tried the Disk Copy method, but I do use the Toast method without any problems.
