Strange Dock Problem

After reading another post I read something that sounded OK so I typed it into the Terminal and pressed Return. Ever since I typed that in (I'm not sure what it was) whenever I hide an application its icon in the Dock goes semi-transparent. Can anyone supply me with the code for the Terminal that will restore my original settings so that when I hide an application its icon in the Dock remains the same?

download transparentdock 2.02 from versiontracker.com.

that'll fix it.

btw - i like the faded hidden icons ;)

I used cocktail to activate that hidden system feature, i like hidden transparent icons too. If there was another state where the icon was clear like ices, but textured, of course the icon would need to be made, but it would look tight.

Or for the Terminal, defaults write com.apple.dock showhidden -bool false

You'll have to restart the Dock for it to take effect, though.

That'd be a cool effect...clear icons...

you want to get rid of the white background on dock, snuff? get transparentdock (versiontracker..), that will do it with one click. it's freeware and does not slow anything on your system. oh, vällkommen :)

Welcome to the site.

Doesn't Tinkertools do a lot of that? I know it can make hidden icons in the Dock transparent.

the cleardock wants also the unsanity basic thingy ... you install the unsanity thing first, and then the cleardock. it has install instructions - so it will go a specific folder (see its readme file!!) and not to applications. to use it, open system preferences, and see the unsanity haxies (lowest row).
