Strange Window Icons On My Desktop

All of a sudden I am getting screen icons on the desktop. There are three of them. They cannot be moved or selected or double clicked on, or deleted.How were they created and how can they be deleted?

Unfortunately the icon is not resizable. I did find it in the following folder: users/nealnt/documents/screenshots/modified2/png.

Obviously a screenshot. Why it apparently is locked, I do not know.
Can you highlight it; get info; unlock it; then delete?
 
No I can do none of the above. But I did find that these images are stored at users/nealnt/documents/screenshots with a name like modified2/png. Deleting this file deletes the icon on the desktop.
