Streaming Mpeg-1 (muxed) Help??

OK so I have this muxed mpeg1 file that i want to put on my webpage and have it stream. So I loaded it into QT Pro, and went to Export Movie to Hinted Movie. Put it up on the site with the embed tags, and.....boooooo, it doesn't stream (i know it's not real "streaming"), but rather waits for the entire 23mb file to download, then play (still in the browser/QT plugin, it just doesn't buffer/start playing and then finish downloading while it's playing). So I'm guessing the "hinting" didn't take...and i was wondering if there is a different way to hint the movie or what.

i hope i explained this well enough...and thank you all for any help! Oh, I'm on 10.4.3, QT Pro 7, 15" powerbook.

i think if you want to do realtime streaming, as opposed to progressive, yeah. but i'm not looking to do realtime.
