Stuck MIDI notes & Tiger...Anyone?

The list of attempted fixes is exhausted.
Rest assured that many of the compulsory methods have been tried.
They run the spectrum of hardware and software.
It definitely boils down to a problem with the OS or to a core helper app.

What happens is this :

Me play some notes....notes no stop.
As though I had my foot on a sustain pedal of the piano type.
I've run midi monitor and other such apps.
Whether I'm using my software midi sequencer (DP 4.61)
or just playing a VSTi via ugly VSTi, I eventually get sticking or hanging midi notes.

Anyone else hear of this?
I've seen posts all over complaining of this in Panther.
People were distressed and thought their specific audio apps
to be the culprits.
Developers responded.
But I found no one with a similar set up to mine.
Any input appreciated.

Download and run OnyX and see if this resolves the problem. Sounds like a corrupted preference file or system file. I know that sometimes apps like the one you mentioned have a panic button that sends MIDI off signals to all MIDI channels.

BTW, can you describe what your MIDI setup is comprised of? For example, I have a USB MIDI interface attached to my iMac G5 and my synths. From my iMac, I have MIDI IN/OUT cables running to one synth, and then from the MIDI THRU of the first synth I have it going to the MIDI IN of the second synth. I also had to manually create the connections in the MIDI setup in Applications-->Utilities. Once I tested everything virtually, the rest started working as well.
