i have an imac g3 and g5.now my g3 is gone down and the hardrive is corrupted.I got a forewire external hdd and thought i would load up os x on it and get it force boot.

the problem is i cant find the media package for the g5 and i really need to install the os because my other system is just plain dead.Is there anyway i can do it using my g5??

i do have root login in the g5

please help

The iMac G3 won't boot off the Firewire drive.
You can install OS X on the G3 iMac using the G5 discs.

You shoukld be able to install a system on the Imac from the G5 using Firewire Target Disk Mode.
