Sun releases Solaris 9 for x86

Nice one, Sun! Open source, free (with a $20 media fee) for non-commercial users, and only $99 for commercial use; makes this a nice entry into the PC-Unix market and another kick in the pants for Microsoft!
I haven't used Solaris since version 7, but I was happy with it then. If this release prompts even a handful of companies to switch from Windows, it will be a good thing.
