Superdrive Jammed

I have an iMac G4 of which the Superdrive is jammed.
Also the system doesn't recognize the drive if I look for it. Seems totally gone.
However at startup there is a short motion as if it wants to open up, but closes again immidiate.
As far as I am aware the drive is empty.
Any idea?
Is it easy to maybe reach the drive when I open up the bottom, so I can at least open up manually to see if something is stuck inside after all? Appreciate your help.

Try restarting the computer and hold down the mouse button. Continue to hold down the mouse button until the drive opens. You just might have something stuck in there, a mini disk or a part of a label. Paper labels on CDs are a pain.
