SuperDrive overheating

Pioneer have recently issued a press release about SuperDrives risking damage through overheating when burning new high-speed DVDs:

It looks as though a simple firmware update solves things, although Pioneer's Macintosh downloads section is still under construction.

One person commented: "I spoke to a Pioneer rep at the phone number that they provided on their site. He said that the Mac patch will be available through Apple in around three weeks."
