hey guys i'm a newbie to this forum but loving it...Windows doesnt' have nothing on apple....I got a free emach 700mhz powerpcg4 machine with 256 mb of memory and it's just one sweet machine if you ask me.... My only question is how do you make your icons on the screen for your software? be gentle with me really new and would love to learn how to program with this machine any help on these matter would be appreciated....Terry
 
When you see the standard icon on screen. Right click (or Control Click) on it. "Get Info" window appears on screen. Icon is at the top. You can cut and paste a new icon into the location from a drawing/paint/photo program.
 
Do you mean having desktop icons for your programs? Find the application that you want a link for in the Applications folder (leave all applications in the Application folder), select it, then click File -> Make Alias. You can then drag the Alias to the desktop without worrying about messing up the application.
