switching left and right audio channels in software?

Is there a way to swap the left and right audio channels via software? Or is there a file that I can edit to swap them? Any point in the right direction would be appreciated.

go to versiontracker and download sound studio, when you open a file you can go to "audio -> swap channels" and it will do it

Hmm - I was hoping to do this via the OS somehow as I don't want to install unecessary software (I would never use Sound Studio, so paying $50 for it is a little crazy).

Any other ideas?
