synchronizing my music??

ok so what does that mean like when i conect my ipod my windows media player opens and asks me if i wanan synchronize it
 
Windows Media Player opens when you connect your iPod? Or does iTunes open?

What platform are you using -- Mac OS X or Windows?

I would first check the preferences in Windows Media Player to see if there is some preference that is set to something like "Open Windows Media Player when an MP3 player is connected" or something like that.

Can you take a screenshot of the message?
