I'm trying to manage Apple's System fonts. specifically the pesky dFonts and I've got some issues.
1. I can't find out how to convert or otherwise properly provide dFonts to a service bureau. They don't know what to do with them. I can't find out how to "convert" them to the good old standard Truetype (dFonts are truetype in some kind of new wrapper, yes?). So, in effect, for designers they are uesless and in fact, annoying as nice as they are. Correct me if I'm wrong. My providers tell me ATM does not recognize them.
2. So I figured I'd just kill the dFonts (sigh) and stick with my very large tried and true Postscript and Truetype (original)collection. Only prob is that I can't kill the fonts at Root/System/Library/Fonts (the other Library/Fonts directories will cough em up). Root is owner, and of course, I can't figure out how to loging as Root. Please don't even for a second offer up a command line solution, cuz I ain't doing it
3. Let's say I find a way to move the Fonts in the system folder, which fonts does the system absolutely need to run properly?
4. any other designers finding ways to use dFonts with bureaus?
