I accidentally deleted my System Preferences on my PowerBook. I really need to replace them. Someone please help me how to do so. I need step by step instructions. I have been trying to figure this out for months! Or even if you are running MAC OS X Version 10.5.7 and can copy and send me their preferences I would appreciate it soooooooo MUCH!

Someone please help!

Simplest way is to download Pacifist, insert your Leopard install disc, and click Open Apple Install Discs in Pacifist. Navigate to /Applications/System Preferences.app in the hierarchy and select and choose to install System Prefs. Then, download and install the 10.5.7 (or 10.5.8) combo update from Apple, ensuring you have the most up to date files including System Prefs.

I've downloaded the Pacifist and installed the Leopard CD and have gone through all the Optional Installs and have no clue which one to pick. None of them are listed as systempreferences.app.

Did you click the Open Apple Install Discs button in Pacifist? Then, you have to wait for all the packages to load. System Preferences is in /OSInstall/EssentialSystemSoftware/EssentialSystemSoftwareGroup/Essentials/Applications. Click it and click Install on the toolbar.
