Hi, I have an early powerbook G4 running OS 10.3.6.
Reliability has been good but today I got the kernal panic "you must restart your computer" screen. I did then ran disk utility which was ok. Then I looked in the system profiler log and saw:

Mac OS X Version 10.3.6 (Build 7R28)
2006-03-07 16:44:04 +0000
I'm in the main function
diagappDialogBase::setProperty( "sizeGripEnabled", value ) failed: property invalid, read-only or does not exist
: object: ./Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS/iTunes malformed object (inconsistant sizeofcmds field in mach header)

Do you know what this means?

chris

Something looks fishy in your iTunes ...
Go to Applications / Utilities and open Disk Utility. Then select your hard drive, and Repair Permissions. It could be somehting set up in iTunes application contents to read only.
You had only one kernal panic, right? (the "you have to restart your computer" is called so).

Thanks for your reply Giaguara,
Yes i've had only the one kernal panic and
not added anythong to itunes recently.
I ran Repair Permissions and all seems ok. The log now reads:

Mac OS X Version 10.3.6 (Build 7R28)
2006-03-08 07:19:25 +0000
I'm in the main function
diagappDialogBase::setProperty( "sizeGripEnabled", value ) failed: property invalid, read-only or does not exist
: object: ./Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS/iTunes malformed object (inconsistant sizeofcmds field in mach header)

Would i have to go through everything in itunes to see if anything is read only?

Thanks again.

"kernel" panic. ;) ...

On topic: Is it an option to upgrade to 10.3.9 and the latest version of iTunes? If so, I'd definitely do that. 10.3.6 seems a bit old...
