Tape backup

I heard that you can do a backup to miniDV tape via your firewire camcorder. Has anyone done this, and if so how?

There are many reasons not to do this: First, your tape heads are fragile compared to a firewire hard drive. You will wear out the heads very quickly.


Second, the error correction is very high, you might garble your data.

However, I'm not one to stop anyone from doing anthing foolish, so get dvspoof from http://members.home.net/andy.kromkanp/DVspoof_v13beta.zip and try it.

But don't tell me I didn't warn you.
