I've found out that the Terminal is the perfect Finder on old machines (that means the "old" iMacs which Apple haven't made graphics card drivers for yet). It's faster, more stable, and has more features than Finder, and Finder and all the windows eats memory. So, I've replaced Finder with the Terminal, and running 2-3 terminal windows all the time. And I still have the dock to launch apps instantly
