the best scanner

I'm interested in purchasing a scanner, but everytime I look at the reviews I get more and more confused. I like the cannon 8000F but the reviews say it is noisy. Looking for 2400 x 4800 dpi for less than $200, and with USB 1, (still have a G4), any suggestions. Thanks.

I've had great luck with Epson scanners. Good price, reliable, excellent quality.
