The MS-Word Refresh Document Problem!

Hello,

After installing MS Office on my new Mac (OS X 10.6.5) I have a very irritating problem where the Word document (while in outline mode/view) does not refresh.

After I move items around at different levels of the MS Word outline the document becomes very polluted with stuff that is not erased. To trigger an actual erase I need to click outside MS Word to deactivate it. Then I need to activate it again and resume work!

Does anyone else experience this extremely poor behavior? The version of MS Word I have is 2008 12.2.6. I need MS Word for work so other software is not an option.

I have attached before/dirty and after/clean pictures.

My files are confidential. I have attached the template I use for all the outline files I produce. I created the template to kill all auto styling so that as I work there is no auto formatting. Not sure how the file could make a diff with the refresh problem. I believe it is more related to the poor integration Word has between its view types.

In order to reproduce the problem you will need to create multiple indented levels for several pages. Then open up levels and drag sections up/down over the length of a page or two.

Maybe you will get help if you updated your Word to current version 12.2.8?
Maybe that's a bugfix in an update, and the update wouldn't hurt to do in any case.
Launch Word, go to Check for Updates, under the Help menu.

And, users report improved performance with Office 2011 over 2008.
