Themes for X

I've grown tired of the Aqua system theme, so I wanted to change it. I went to www.resexcellence.com and looked at the themes for my system (X v10.1.5) and found one, but when I tried installing it, the Finder wouldn't even launch. Another one that I found was built for an older version of X and couldn't be used. The themes I'm interested in are black backgrounded, with blue and/or red objects. If you know of any themes that I could use, what are they? Thanks.
 
You need something like Duality to actually switch the theme. It isn't like it OS 9 where it is just a single file anymore.
I personally wouldn't use themes, I have heard some awful horror stories from people who's computers got fried when something went wrong. Anyway, your choice! :) Just appraising you of the dangers! ;)
 
^^ I have Duality, but this theme had a few files that had to go into the System folder, so I couldn't use it. The only reason I want a theme is because I'm giving my computer a whole gothic-esque makeover, and the Aqua just doesn't fit.

Well, I am afraid, never having any themes, my ability to help you install them is less than zero. I know there are some people on here who do use them, and will be only too happy to help. Just hang around and I am sure one of them will drop by!
 
On the ResExcellence Theme page, you see that black and blue theme, 'Shinobi'. I've used that theme in the past. It doesn't require a separate installer. The file that you get is itself an installer. I know that that author in particular seems to like that method of installation.( which is a lot easier if you ask me) Make sure you have a copy of 'AquaFix' before doing any of this themeing. Hope this helps.
