:( This "Microsoft® technology" is based off of the adaptive latent semantic analysis that was introduced into the mainstream by Jaguar's Mail.app.
 
I thought Mail.app used Smapcop filters? What does Smamcop have to do with Apple? Is there something I'm missing here?
 
MSN 8 has the same spam filtering software that Hotmail has had for the last year and 1/2. So, given the facts that hotmail's filter is older than 10.2 and that M$ would rather reinvent the wheel than use a standard or what someone else came up with, I'd have to say that they are probably telling the truth. And even if they had copied the concept from someone else, it wouldn't be the first time that M$ has stolen something, slapped their logo on it and pretended that the world is a better place now that Microsux has "pioneered" this wonderful invention without which your world won't be complete.

Now whether Mail.app's Spam filter is superior to M$'s is another story.
