I noticed a cool app in the dev tools last night, ThreadViewer. Lets you attach to a running app and view the threads that are running in it and their activity.
Funny thing is that MSN Messenger is running about 7 threads that are pretty equal in running time. The Finder on the other hand was only running 2 threads when I attached to it. After I opened another window it spawned another thread but almost all the activity is always in the main thread, no matter how many are running. Looks like Apple still needs to work on sharing work between their threads in the Finder. Will be interesting to play with the app and see what sort of threading other apps are using.
