Hi,
I recently upgraded to a DSL modem and am wondering if there are any unix commands to test the speed. Or if there are any good osX programs to do so? I'm interested in testing the upload and download speed.
 
you should be able to use something like the command line ftp and upload/download some rather decent 2mb or so files to your ISP.

that'll give you the real juice going to your uplink.
