Just to reiterate: GMail already has Atom support. You do not need a special app to check for new mail: any RSS reader with Atom support (like NetNewsWire) can show your new GMail.

I didn't know _that_! That's a good thing. As I'm using NetNewsWire 2 beta all the time, that'll be my favourite Gmail notifier until I'm using Dashboard on a daily basis.
