I recently became aware of the fact that Mail search field does not return anything at all for search strings typed in there. The default 'view' is All Mail Boxes and Entire Message. I have tried it with all sort of search strings, including the ones I know definitely exists. Whereas, clicking any other views i.e, From or To produces a result. For example, my mails to 'Jackie' with text 'Dear Jackie' within it will not show up during an Entire Message search, but will show up if I click the To button! In fact, nothing at all appears in the entire message view, across all mail boxes or any selected boxes.
Very odd, I have come across reports of corrupted spotlight database, but don't know how to repair it. Look forward to any light you can shine on this.
