I just had Tiger installed on my work computer a few weeks agao. In that time I have had 2 digital cameras have card reading issuse since I have had the upgrade. Both cameras are different brands and use different card types. Has anyone else had this issuse?

Heck one of them has to be sent off of service and the other is on the fence.

One was a Sony and the other a Nikon both pluged into the USB. Images were downloaded and then camera removed. Once started up after that it would read memory stick/card error. I had used both cameras on the computer before without any trouble.

The cards read fine in a reader and other cameras... so it's the actual camera and not the cards.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Rob

Yes! and the camera won't read the cards to even format them. I ran all of the recommended tests to try and get the cameras to work. Sony even had me reset the camera and that didn't work, so thats why I now have send it in to have it repaired for $211!

The Nikon was the same way. I have given it back to the dept that owned it and they were gonna have it looked at too.

We are talking 2 different brand cameras with different media coming up with the same problem all in the same week after they were plugged into my computer. The Sony worked fine for 3 yrs and the Nikon is 6 months old.

The Sony worked fine with OS 9, X.1, X.2 with out a hitch. Now with X.3 I am having camera issuses.

My Sony is working fine with 10.4.6 and iPhoto6. Same camera and earlier iPhoto since Feb 2004. Used all available versions of OSX in that time.

When you say X.3 do you mean X.4? X.3 is Panther.

What version of iPhoto (or other) software are you using?

Sorry I do mean X.4 Tiger. I don't use iPhoto I use Photoshop CS2. All I do is pull the images off the camera and save them to the server.

not a singal problem with my kodac, and i haven't installed the sw that came with it, i just plugged it in and the os did the rest. i was so happy, i didn't want the camera's sw interfearing with iphoto. i think it just might be conwincidence. but if it messes up a thrid camera, it could be the cable or usb port is bad and surged the camera. remember, usb ports are powered.
