I have had Time Machine Running on a Seagate 250GB Hard Drive with two partitions for 10 months. It got full and I needed to start afresh as it would not keep a constant back up. I deleted the main partition and set Time Machine going. If failed after 20GB of 180GB. after looking into the problem I discovered I have to re-format THE WHOLE HD again as Apple states, into a GUID format for Time Machine. I have done this (after getting the 40GB of other files off my other partition). I have now re-formatted it into 49GB and 250GB as the Apple Article: TS1550 asks but still it sticks on the 250GB partition at 20GB. I am running 10.5.6 on an Intel Core 2 Duo, 1.5GHZ, 21in iMac with 4GB Ram. Any guidance appreciated.
