Time Machine

Is there another interface alternative to Time Machine? It is slow (it does look cool) and the job could be more easily done with something simpler. Is there such a program?

I did find a program called Back-in-Time but it costs. Is there no free program out there? It could be easily coded, so if I don't find anything I will make it myself.

Finder. Just go to the Time Machine backup in Finder and retrieve what you're looking for.

I know you can do that but I want something easier to use (I can select a date then find a file or select a file and show all revisions).

Hm. Finder+Spotlight? Intelligent folders would probably do what you want? I really think the interface is kinda made for stuff you want to achieve.
