Hello,

iBook G4, OS X 10.4.2, Safari 2.0

Problems acessing webpages and software updater.

For several months I had no problems then without having made any changes I started having problems accessing wepages, some work but most does not.

I get the “lost network connection” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1005) message.
When trying to use software updater I get the message network timed out (-1001)

I can run a pc on the same network connection and then no problems so the connection is ok which also is confirmed by the Network Diagnostics

Reloading pages does not help.

Did try with other browsers but that did not work either.

Tried clearing the cache and trash the Safari preference list, doesn’t help.

Reinstalled the whole computer, still the same problem.

Please help.

Thanks.

It sounds like it may be a hardware problem not a software. I tend to see this when there is extreme traffic on my network (about 50 comps and servers etc). Try reseting your modem and or router. That seems to be the way to go on this one.

There is a way but, I will have to get back to you on monday. If you cant't wait search for the error code on the Apple tech support.
