TIP - iBook 500 audio "bug"

Scratch & Sniff Committee
Hey, I just found something out.

The current shape iBook 500 turns off its sound hardware (to save power I guess) if no sound is active for a minute or two. It takes a half-second to turn back on.

This doesn't bother me, but it explains why speaking dialogues sometimes came up "...ooze me, there was an error (etc. etc)" (Cutting off the "Exc" in "Excuse me")

There is a "patch" for this in the form of a program you have to keep open all the time. You can look it up on versiontracker.com

Mind you, I haven't bothered. Just though it might help someone.
