Trackpad 2-finger RightClick Missing

I've updated my iBook12/1.3/40 from the supplied 10.4.3 regularly. It's now at 10.4.8, but seems to be missing one feature which my friends seem to have in the Trackpad widget from System Preferences, namely the "lay two fingers on pad makes any click a RightClick." There's no button in my SysPrefs. Attached is a shot of A FRIEND'S SysPrefs, not mine, which is missing the item in question.

System shows 10.4.8. Finder shows 10.4.6. System Preferences shows "3.3, copyright 1999-2004."

Hints? Place to find the 10.4.8 compendium update, if that's the magic potion? I couldn't find a link on the Apple site, in a medium-casual perusal.

Or perhaps you get no right-click with a G4 meatball?

If yours is not the latest iBook(scrolling trackpad, HD sensor), you do not natively have this option.

You can download a little addon called iScroll that enables it.

Mine is a Summer '05 1.3GHz model, and does have two-finger scrolling under Tiger, and presumably the HW support for same, just not this option.

Any other thoughts?

It could be that you got the older 1.3 GHz model which did _not_ have the feature? Does it _have_ the HD motion sensor? Try installing software that uses that. Playthings like Lightsabre or something... Oh and yeah: *DON'T* bump. People _will_ answer if they have an answer. If they don't, they don't.

Very sorry to have bruised the mores here. It's hard to keep track of all the sensistivities in today's anarchic net.

I thought that, since I'd quoted component version#'s/infos, someone with a PPC G4 of some kind would chime in, confirming/denying that he had, say, Finder 10.4.6 on OS 10.4.8. Likewise for the SystemPrefs gizmo.

Sorry, my edits don't seem to be taking here. I do have the motion sensor. (I've played with a "seismo" utility at some point.)
