trackpad issue

i've bought one of the new 800mhz ibooks and i am really pleased with it aside from one issue,

although i almost never use it, i just recently booted into osx and it seems my trackpad isn't working. which is especially strange since it works perfectly under linux.
i don't have a clue what the problem is and i also don't have a clue about osx so any pointers would be helpful.

it's not that much of an issue, but it is kinda annoying since occasionly i like to boot into osx and plays some games, i've just been using the arrows and keyboard to launch them but a working mouse would certinaly help.

It should just work. If it doesn't, I'd guess you have a driver problem. The driver should be a standard part of OS X.

What do you see when you open the Mouse Preference Pane?

If nothing, then I would think you might want to reinstall OS X.

reesb,

Good choice of laptop. I love my iBook. I would suggest calling Apple and letting them figure it out. Take advantage of your toll-free tech support while it lasts.

Or, you could open it up and start fiddling with stuff, then break something and whine about it.

Yeah, call Apple.
