I have two problems with my track pad. These are problems caused by me I believe. I'm looking for suggestions of what I can do different.
I just switched to a Macbook Pro 15". I have Ignore accidentl trackpad input. I also have all of the trackpad gestures clicked (two finger scrolling, clicking, dragging, drag lock, and secondary click). I really like all these features.
First, the balls of my thumb (I'm not sure exactly what to call them) often touch the trackpad. Frequently when this happens, it confuses the mouse. Often when I'm typing, the keybord focus will go off to somewhere weird (where the mouse happens to be) and sometimes it selects or deselects text and all sorts of ick.
I thought about maybe putting some type of plastic protector on the sides of the trackpad. I'm also trying to hold my thumbs up.
The other problem I have is I touch the trackpad too lightly. This often confuses the trackpad so that it thinks I clicked when I did not intend to. The obvious solution is for me to be more deliberate with my fingers, press just a bit harder so that the trackpad has a more definate input. This definately solves my problems.
I'm wondering if others have bumped into these problems and if they have any solutions. I found a link to Side Track. It can reallocate how the trackpad works. I'm tempted to try it but it appears it might cause sleep problems after 10.4.8. It also seems like it will not really solve my direct problems.
