trackpad tap not supported??

I've got a 400 mHz Pismo (firewire) PowerBook ...

Has anyone gotten the trackpad to support tapping??

I had it in OS 9 but I can't seem to figure out how to do it in OS X.

any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Same problem with same machine .. if you ever find the answer let me know =\. Not just that but pressing c to boot of another cd won't work for me any more either (even after pram zap) ..
