Transferring Bookmarks

How can I transfer my bookmarks from Firefox on my iBook (internal HD) to Firefox (external HD), without messing up the present bookmarks on Firefox (external HD)?

I have OS X 10.3.9 on the internal HD, and OS X 10.4.5 on the external HD. Thanks.

You can just copy them. They're located here

User/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/xxxxdefault

Hold the Option key down and drag the 'bookmarks.html' file to your other location.

If I copy the bookmarks.html file, won't the file replace the existing one? I want to keep the present bookmarks too.

If you put it in the same location, it will replace the current file. Put it n another location on the drive.

I guess I should have used the title, "Importing Bookmarks," instead. Is there anyway to import the bookmarks? I know that you used to be able to import bookmarks on the older systems without erasing the existing boomarks. The imported bookmarks would simply show up in the pull-down menu as another set of bookmarks.

You could try using the Bookmarks Synchronizer extension for Firefox.

It'll allow you to merge bookmarks and then keep them synchronized.
However, you will need a place to store them, such as a WebDAV or FTP
server.

That's not an option I'm looking for. I'd like to be able to actually import other sets of bookmarks like you could do with the older systems (OS 9x).

Thanks for helping me figure out how to import my old bookmarks! I have them imported, and just about finished reorganizing several thousand bookmarks. That will be a big time saver!!
