Trash bin not emptying

Hi
I have an item in my trash can I can't get rid of. It is a folder and although I hold down option when emptying it will not let me delete it, saying I do not have permission. Any ideas? Thanks

Have you tried restarting first?

Open the Terminal Application (in Utilities folder) and type:

cd ~/.Trash
hit return

sudo rm -rf

put a space after the f and drag the item you want deleted to the terminal so that its path is automatically entered, then press return

give it your admin password and hit return
