Trash/privileges

Hi all,

for a couple of days now I'm having the following problem: I can't empty the Trash because it tells me "you don't have enough privileges to delete "O"". So, *nothing* gets deleted. Switching to root/reboot etc. doesn't help.
Any tips ?

FYI I've included a.jpg of the error notice.

There seems to be no item "O2. Not even an invisible one.

P.S. No offense, but this is the first time I see somebody call himself a "prick" (= membrum virile)
:p

Just option click the trash can and select emtpy trash; locked and invisible files are deleted along with any OS 9 files in the trash (which might be the problem).

hope it works! Works for me:cool:

JohnnyV, I already tried Option-empty. That doesn't work. level9, that sounds promising. However I ran into a problem: First I couldn't identify as root. I mean the (certainly correct) root pw was not accepted. I then went to NetInfo and set a new pw. Now, I don't even get to identify in the terminal.
?

Okay, so this is the terminal trouble:
I get to the password prompt. Type the pw. However the insertion mark doesn't move as if I wasn't typing anything. Pressing return results in an error message. What can I do ?

The insertion point (cursor) not moving as you type your password is the correct behavior.
What exactly does the error message say?

Yea, I seemed to remember the cursor was okay.
Well, it simply says "Sorry, try again".
Mmm, the pw works in NetInfo.
Still, I've found another solution to the problem:
The problem was a "Temporary Items" folder from a different partition. I moved it backed to its origin. After that I was able to empty the Trash.
