Trouble making a backup copy of iWork '08

freaky

OSXer
I recently purchased iWork '08 and went to try and make a back DVD of it today. I used Disco and Toast Titanium, but neither worked as I was unable to install it from the backup CD onto my laptop. I'm assuming that Apple has some kind of protection on the disc so this cannot be done, but I have had to purchase software that I already owned before in the past because of a scratched disk. If I shell out $100 for software, then I should be able to create a backup in case something goes wrong so I don't have to rebuy it.

Can someone tell me what I need to differently to get it to work? Arrrrrrr....

You shouldn't even need Toast. Make a disk image in Disk Utility,
mount the image, and burn it.

I always keep images of install discs on my "files" HD. But only after
proving that they'll work.

iWork '08 can be downloaded from apple.com (the trial is the full version). The only thing you truly need to backup is your serial number.
