Troubles with games (OSX)

Hi,
A lot of games doesn't work on my iMac.
Is there specific thinks to know ?
I saw that the application run with PowerPC (list of operations, on activity monitor) while the others were typed Intel.

Could it be trouble on the DVD reader ?

Macs don't like games. Macs are for serious work, not mucking around in Second Life or wandering the cobblestone streets of Warcraft. That's why. ;)

In all seriousness, please provide more information. Which specific games are you talking about? What kind of Mac do you have? What version of OS X are you running?
 
I mean the game starts, but doesn't work properly.
Example : "J'ai trouvé, c'est fantast!que" Scholastic, OK for OSX 10.1.2 or sup

I've got a "waiting pointer mouse" for pictures or sounds. The DVD is running but I've had to wait lot of times (seconds or minutes) to see a picture or to hear a sound.

I've got iMac, OS 10.5.8, Proc 2,93GHz, 4Go RAM, Drive 600 Go

It's my first Mac. I don't understand why the process of those games is flagged "PowerPC" and all of other process "Intel".
I understand that some applications don't work because too old (done for OS9, and OS10.1 or OS10.2)
It's a pity, no ? Is there no way to run those old applications on OS10.5.8
Need I to go on OS10.6 ? (I have the CD, but ... no time to archive my datas for the moment ...)
